Help fade Stretch marks

How does Morpheus 8 treatment work?

Radio-frequency micro needling uses collagen -induction  therapy as a needles of the machine pierce the outer surface of the skin up to depths of 7 mm. This tissue-injury stimulates a response from the skin by up-regulating fibroblast and elastin and collagen production, the Morpheus 8 also applies radio- frequency heat energy in combination with this needling  and it is this heat  energy that penetrates deep into the dermal skin cell layers remodelling the structural components and tightening the skin producing remarkable lifting and tightening and smoothing of the area treated.

How many treatments are needed?

It is generally recommended to have three Morpheus 8 treatments spaced at 4 to 6 week intervals to complete a course.

What happens during a Morpheus 8 procedure?

The skin is thorough cleansed and disinfected .

A numbing cream is then applied to the area that is going to be treated and this will be left to absorb into the skin for at least half an hour. The Morpheus machine head piece which encompasses the needle component is then applied to the area that is to be treated and with each pass on each area, the radio frequency heat energy is applied at the same time.

What can I expect after the Morpheus 8 eight treatment?

The skin will be red and possibly sore and/or swollen post-procedure  and this is a normal post-procedure result, This will surpass however over the next few days and the skin will naturally and gradually heal itself and the redness will subside.  The recommended social downtime is 2 to 3 days.

Within 5 to 7 days the skin is often healed  fully. It is important to ensure that post procedure after-care is followed. An SPF 50 should be worn at all times to protect the skin when exposed to UVA, UVB and HEV rays post-procedure. ZO smart-tone SPF 50 is absolutely brilliant as a post-procedure SPF and is always my go-to on recommendations after any patient has had a procedure and is seeking a suitable SPF to apply afterwards. It has a 12-hour time-release antioxidant complex which guards against photodamage and combats the appearance of redness it also contains minerals titanium dioxide and iron oxide as well, which is an added extra bonus when selecting an SPF.

It is important to avoid application of any skin actives to the skin for at least a week after the Morpheus 8 because the ingredients within the skin actives like retinol, vitamin C, salicylic acid, niacinamide to mention a few can aggravate the skin barrier post-treatment.

Any skincare products that are applied to the skin should just be gentle and ideally chemical ingredient free, it is best to try and keep the skin as dry as possible. All of this would be discussed with you post-procedure. Use of sunbeds, exposure  to rays and heat, sauna or steam rooms should also be avoided aswell as any strenuous activity.

When can I expect to see results from the treatment?

Although many patients see results 2 to 3 weeks after the treatment, It is always explained that optimal results are actually seen beyond three months after the procedure so after a course of three treatments spaced at 4 to 6 weeks intervals you will expect to see the results going on for the next 3 to 6 months for skin tightening and lifting.

How long do the results last?

Many patients can see results going on for up to 1 to 3 years post treatment after a course of three sessions. However, it is always important to state that every patient is different and results can differ inter-variably from one patient to another.
