The prolific prowess of polynucleotides

Polynucleotides really are quite the buzz word in today’s aesthetic treatments.
They have selectively honed a niche in  delivering results for treatment of targeted skin concerns such as treatment of hollowing and pigmentation under the eyes, treatment of volume loss across facial structures and rejuvenation and tightening  of skin across a number of different areas on the face and body.

What are polynucleotides?
Vitaran is a polynucleotide is made from purified salmon DNA fragments. This belongs to a group of molecules commonly referred to as  ‘bio-stimulators’. These molecules work in a way so as to ignite the production of cells within the skin structural cell layers in particular proliferating fibroblast activity underneath the surface of the skin to produce more elastin and collagen. It also increases the dermal skin cell hydration levels of the skin cells and turns off and inhibits the production of melanin responsible for pigmentation of skin cells. The overall result is skin tightening, skin brightening, de-pigmentation and anti-wrinkle effects.
Polynucleotides also work  well for treatment of acne scarring and treatment of open pores.
They are a highly versatile treatment which can be injected across a number of different areas of the face and the body. Treatment areas include the hands, the face, the neck and décolletage, they are a very popular treatment for under-eyes as well where it is a fantastic treatment for reducing pigmentation and classic dark under-eye circles, puffiness and bags, treatment of  lines, wrinkling and creasing. In particular under- eye area treatment is suitable for those patients who are not ideal candidates for dermal filler treatment and those patients who are more susceptible to malar oedema and have compromised under-eye lymphatic drainage. Polynucleotide under-eye treatment is an excellent alternative treatment for these patient groups.

Is the procedure painful?
Polynucleotide treatment with a product like Vitaran is not a painful procedure. The area of the skin to be treated is numbed and cleaned thoroughly and then treated.

How many sessions are needed ?
It is advisable with Vitaran treatment a course of three treatments is completed, this is spaced commonly at 4 week intervals. It is also advised that the results continue to show months and months after the treatment aswell.

What is the after care for this procedure?
It is recommended not to use heat or steam rooms, to avoid application of heat directly to the area.
In addition it is also advised to avoids alcohol for at least 48 hours.
